Do not like this post

That got your attention, didn’t it?

Of course it did, that’s exactly what it was supposed to do.

Now I have your attention, your attention sits right here in the palm of my hand. I can let it sit there or fidget with it , I can throw it someplace useful or I can let it wither away.

Do I still have your attention?

You will forget about this in about five minutes.

Most people retain about 10% of what they read. This makes attention a precious commodity.

I, however, have your attention. If you’re still giving it to me.

It is a world of minuscule attention spans, there will always be something prettier to look at.

We often forget that we still control who and what we pay attention to. This is a great power to hold. Do not waste it.

Are you still reading?

I just directed where you look at for the past minute or so. I don’t know who you are or even where on the planet you are but I made you look somewhere.

I think that’s pretty impressive.

So thank you for your time.

I would be much obliged if you ignored the title 🙂

Much love,

Shreya

  1. Haha! Very clever. And what you say is in fact true. I can relate to it all the more right now since nowadays, I dunno why, I’m getting distracted easily even though directing and holding my attention at one place is a virtue I’ve always been proud of.
